Elementary Grades
The Elementary Program is intended to help students develop spiritually, physically, academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Elementary Program consists of grades one through six and is fully accredited by Alberta Learning.
Specifically, Faith Lutheran School . . .
• follows the approved Alberta curriculum for all core and elective subjects. There is a strong emphasis on basic skills including reading, writing, and mathematics. Enhancement programs in core subjects include Accelerated Reader and Perfect Copy.
• provides daily Christian Studies instruction from a Lutheran perspective. The Voyages curriculum from Concordia Publishing teaches Bible lessons and principles with a Gospel focus. Students are encouraged to apply God's Word by putting their faith into action.
• keeps a low student/teacher ratio, allowing for individualized instruction.
• offers art and music programs along with extra-curricular clubs such as chess and tone chimes. Computer skills are taught in conjunction with other subject areas.
• provides a quality physical education program, supplemented by extra-curricular athletics.
• is committed to regular communication between the school and home, including four written reports together with a fall and spring parent/teacher conference.
• works through Capital Health to provide speech therapy for student with eligible language difficulties.
