Bridging the Gap

bridge imageFaith Lutheran School relies on three main sources for funding to meet annual operations expenses and growth.  These sources are:  Government Grants, Tuition Fees and Donation & Fundraising.

Government Grants are received from the Government of Alberta and account for approximately 35- 40% of the school’s overall funding. As an independent school, Faith receives only a portion of the full grant given to their public school counterparts. AISCA  (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) is one organization that lobbies the government on our behalf. For more information about AISCA, you can view their web site at www.aisca.ab.ca.

Tuition Fees paid by parents account for approximately 20-30% of the school’s funding. Because we believe as a school that all children should have the opportunity to attend Faith Lutheran School, we make every attempt to keep tuition fees as low as possible, and still be good stewards of God’s blessings to us in managing the school. We are also committed to assisting families, as best we can, with any situation that may keep them from choosing Faith Lutheran School for their children. No child should be turned away based on the families’ inability to pay tuition. Donations made to our tuition assistance program help to cover some of these fees.

Donations, fundraising and grants are major portions of the school’s budget accounting for approximately 35-45% of the school’s overall funding. It is through the generous support of individuals, congregations, and great volunteers that these programs have been so successful.
